PISCATAWAY, N.J. — On a record-setting night for Oregon , its running game produced some outrageous numbers.

Noah Whittington (125 yards) and Jordan Davison (100) each topped 100 yards as the No. 8 Ducks rushed for 415 yards on just 36 carries in a 56-10 mauling of Rutgers Saturday night at SHI Stadium.

UO’s 11.5 yards per carry were its most since at least 1995 and likely a program record. It was also the most allowed by Rutgers on a per carry basis over the same span and potentially a program record at the oldest program in major college football.

“We wanted to establish the run,” Oregon coach Dan Lanning said. “We felt like we could move bodies up front and run through some arm tackles and we did that tonight.”
