Tripura is planning to export electricity to Nepal following its successful power trade with Bangladesh, state power minister Ratan Lal Nath.
A meeting on the matter was recently held in New Delhi, and the final decision will be taken by the Centre, Nath said on October 17.
Tripura , which shares an 856-km border with Bangladesh, currently supplies over 100 MW of electricity to the neighbouring country from the ONGC Tripura Power Company (OTPC) plant at Palatana in Gomati district. Power supply to Bangladesh began in March 2016 and occasionally reaches up to 160 MW.
