Silver prices in India eased on Saturday as investors booked profits ahead of festive buying on Dhanteras, marking a pause after the white metal’s sharp rally to record levels earlier this week.
Silver was trading at ₹172 per gram, or ₹1,72,000 per kilogram, down ₹13 per gram from Friday, according to data from Good Returns. The drop comes after prices surged close to ₹1.8 lakh per kg, reflecting nearly 100% gains in 2025 so far, driven by strong industrial demand and global safe-haven inflows.
The five-day Diwali festival began today with Dhanteras, when buying gold and silver is considered auspicious. Despite the slight price correction, jewellers reported steady demand, as consumers continued to view silver as both a decorative and investment asset.
