SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - The Dordt Defender football team responded to an early touchdown by Mount Marty and won a 33-13 decision on Saturday, October 18 in Sioux Center, Iowa.

The Lancers scored first with a 75-yard, 15 play drive highlighted by a Rugby Ryken to Kyle Hirsch 11 yard pass and 6-0 lead with 5:53 left in the quarter.

Dordt answered with a 15-play drive of its own and it was Kolson Kruse darting in from three yards away and Stephen Leinen’s kick made it 7-6 after Coleson Quiring blocked Mount Marty’s point after.

The touchdown was the first of three Kruse would score on as he had runs of nine and 21 yards later in the game.

Leinen converted a 28-yard field goal as time expired at the half and Dordt was up 16-6.
