Jamie Paterson has put himself in contention for his first League One start of the season for Plymouth Argyle in the Devon derby away to Exeter City on Thursday, according to head coach Tom Cleverley.
The performance of the experienced 33-year-old attacking player as a second half substitute was one of the few positives to come out of the Pilgrims' 2-1 defeat by AFC Wimbledon at Home Park.
Paterson has played seven times for Argyle after joining them in the summer but his only start so far came in the 3-2 Carabao Cup first round tie at home to Queens Park Rangers in August, after which he had a spell out of action due to a calf injury.
