A Glasgow social care worker who turned up drunk to a shift has been warned after launching a foul-mouthed tirade.

Angela Watt was employed as a home carer by Glasgow City Council when she attended a shift under the influence of alcohol on December 3, 2023, a panel of the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) heard this week.

The hearing came after video footage was provided by a service user’s family that showed Ms Watt putting her arms around the service user’s neck and swaying unsteadily. Her speech was slurred, and she used “foul language” during a conversation the panel found was “disrespectful” about another person she supported.

She said about another person she was employed to support: “I told that guy, get out the f***ing bed.”
