Drivers living in Croftfoot and King’s Park say they fear the ban on pavement parking, introduced in January, could “endanger lives” as they fear emergency service vehicles could be blocked on narrow streets.
Glasgow City Council says the assessment process on whether streets should be exempt from pavement parking restrictions is ongoing. Meanwhile, motorists say they are being slapped with frequent and hefty fines — all for being “conscientious residents”.
The petition has gathered 149 signatures as of Sunday morning (October 19). Petitioners say they have “no choice” but to park partially on the pavements due to the narrow streets around C
