BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Quarterback Aidan Chiles sounded invigorated after Michigan State’s 38-13 loss at Indiana . MSU coach Jonathan Smith said his team was “galvanized and ready to go next week” against Michigan. Indiana’s Curt Cignetti, known to be blunt with criticism and careful with praise, said the Spartans “played really hard,” among other less flattering critiques.

MSU’s football program is not in a great place. But I don’t think this is the week to make a change at the top. And I don’t know that making that move before the end of the season is the way to go, either. Unless the effort dips in the next couple weeks, before the Spartans’ next bye.
