Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s much-anticipated return to international cricket ended in a whimper in Perth on Sunday. While Rohit managed a scratchy 8, Kohli failed to open his account after Australia opted to bowl first against India in the first ODI.
The two have retired from Tests and T20Is and are now only available to play ODIs. There are speculations over their futures given the next ODI World Cup is still two years away, with age not on their side either.
To stay match-fit and in form, the duo will have to play cricket regularly, and former India spinner Amit Mishra feels they will benefit from domestic cricket.
