A YouTuber has said he would rather pay 'twice' as much for the M6 Toll road so he can 'avoid Birmingham '.

YouTuber Jon Jefferson, also known as Auto Shenanigans, tested whether the route was quicker than the M6. Jon said: "M6 or M6 Toll? One involves going through Birmingham the other costs money.

"It's a tough choice. Which way do you go?

"Well today I'll be answering that question, sort of, with a practical experiment to see which motorway is the fastest way.

"Maybe the M6 Toll isn't worth the asking price."

To test the two routes, Jon and a 'stunt double' set off at the same time - about 7pm on a weekday, Manchester Evening News reports.
