2 Child Beggars Rescued; Efforts Intensified to Make Punjab Child-Begging-Free Under Project JIWANJYOT News: In an effort to make Punjab free from child begging, two children found begging in Faridkot were rescued, the Information and Public Relations Department, Punjab, said in a press release on October 12, citing Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur.

Punjab Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur stated that she personally noticed the two children near the Faridkot railway crossing and immediately informed the District Child Protection Team.

The two children have been shifted to children’s home for care and protection following the verification of their details.
