OAKLAND COUNTY, MI – Not far outside Detroit city limits lies a 4,500-acre escape from the bustling city, the largest of the 13 Metroparks across Southeast Michigan.

Kensington Metropark features an 18-hole regulation golf course, three disc golf courses, toboggan and sled hills, nature and farm learning centers, picnic areas, beaches, a splash pad and more.

The park’s nature center offers educational programming for all ages and hands-on experiences with its resident animals, which include horses, cows, pigs, sheep, donkeys, goats, chickens, ducks, geese and rabbits.

In autumn, the nature center offers wagon rides, a you-pick pumpkin patch and other seasonal activities. A nearby living history village offers weekend programming.
