NBA superstar Kevin Durant has finalized a two-year, $90 million extension with the Houston Rockets, making him the highest earner in the history of the league .

Following news of the deal, ESPN’s Shams Charania delivered some more details on SportsCenter while speaking to SC anchor Jay Harris.

“(Durant) now has a total of three years and about $145 million on his Rockets deal,” Charania said.

“His business partner, Rich Kleiman, tells me he also has a player option in 2027-28 … this sets Durant up to retire in Houston.”

Charania also noted that Durant’s extension is lower than the $120 million amount he was capable of pursuing on the market.
