PHOENIX — A man was shot and killed by Goodyear police on Saturday night after he allegedly pulled out a handgun while officers pursued a stolen vehicle, authorities said.
Just before 11 p.m. on Saturday, a license plate reader alerted Goodyear police of a stolen vehicle near Dysart Road and Interstate 10.
Upon arrival, police located the vehicle as it entered a parking lot on the southwest corner of Dysart Road and Van Buren Street.
When police approached the vehicle, the driver got out of the car and started running northbound.
