KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. — Investigators are searching for the vehicle responsible for a deadly crash in Kershaw County on Saturday night.

Master Trooper Hannah Davidson with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 9:40 p.m. on U.S. 601 near Porter Cross Road. Authorities said a pedestrian was walking in the road when the person was hit by an unknown vehicle that left the scene.

The victim was taken to an area hospital, where they died from injuries sustained in the crash. Investigators have not yet released any details regarding the possible make, model or color of the vehicle involved in the crash, and the Kershaw County Coroner's Office hasn't yet publicly identified the victim.
