A three-member team from the State Commission for Women (SCW) visited Laxmisagar police station on Sunday in connection with the minor girl assault case in Bhubaneswar. ADVERTISEMENT

The SCW team — comprising Urmila Mohapatra, Pratibha Satapathy and Sasmita Das — also visited the 16-year-old Jharkhand girl who is under treatment at the Capital Hospital.

The minor was rescued in a critical condition with multiple injuries after she was allegedly raped. She was admitted to Capital Hospital after being found writhing in pain on the roadside in the capital city’s Ashok Nagar area, late on Thursday night.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the girl is from Jharkhand.
