DALLAS — As the government shutdown continues, Texas' federal courts will run out of money Oct. 20, but the district court will continue to hear and decide cases.
According to a press release from the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, the federal judiciary has exhausted all available funds. The judiciary will move to a "non-paid status" Monday, Oct. 20.
Sunday marked day 19 of the government shutdown because Congress has failed to pass a continuing resolution to fund the government.
Amid the lapse in funding, the district court will continue to hear and decide cases, the release states.
