In a press release, noting that more than 1,100 people attended the march, organizer Gene Robertson said protesters were peaceful and the mood was happy. “It was a powerful celebration of love of country and rejection of authoritarian overreach. Passing cars honked in support, and cyclists were patient,” the release added. According to the No Kings website: “On October 18, more than 7 million of us rose up at more than 2,700 events in all 50 states, DC, and cities worldwide to say: America has no kings, and the power belongs to the people.” The thousands of nationwide events are against President Donald Trump’s policies and actions.
