ATLANTA — Georgia Tech has entered the AP top-10 for the first time in more than a decade, while Georgia also is on the rise after a big weekend for college football in the Peach State.
Tech improved to 7-0 after beating Duke 27-18 on the road, and they're also appropriately now ranked No. 7. It's the first time the Yellow Jackets have won their first seven games since the Bobby Dodd days of 1966.
The last time Tech was in the top 10 was the year-end 2014 poll. The No. 7 ranking is their highest since 2009.
Georgia, meanwhile, rose to No. 5 and is 6-1 now after rallying against Ole Miss at home in a 43-35 win that dealt the Rebels their first loss of the season.
At the end of the 2014 season, Georgia Tech was #8 and Georgia was #9 https://t.co/InmGJvCg0U — Maria Martin (@Ria_Mar
