The Hobbton Wildcats celebrated homecoming with a 42-28 win over West Columbus Friday night in front of a roaring crowd.
The Wildcats had the ball first and burned three minutes off the clock, getting the first score on a 2-yard run by Reggie Thompson. Will Blackman kicked the PAT for a 7-0 lead with 8:51 left in the first quarter.
West Columbus was not to be out done, however, coming right back to score a couple of minutes later. With the PAT run, they swiped the lead from the home team, and the score was 8-7.
Early in the second quarter, the Wildcats hit pay dirt again on a run by Amir Tate. With Blackman’s PAT kick, the Wildcats had a 14-8 lead. They never looked back.
West Columbus scored with 6:29 left in the half to tie the score at 14. Their PAT run gave them a 16-14 lead.
