SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Rays of Hope Walk and Run took place Sunday morning, drawing thousands of participants to support breast cancer awareness and research.
Celebrating its 32nd year, the Rays of Hope event attracted over 20,000 people from western Massachusetts and beyond. The event aims to raise half a million dollars for breast cancer care, research, and education, adding to the $17 million already raised over the years.

"This is the best day of the year, what a beautiful forecast," said Kathy Tobin, Vice President of Philanthropy at Baystate Health Foundation. "In that sea of pink, there's a great story of humanity, survivors, people who love and support them. Everyone's just an instant friend."
