JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. ( WBRC ) - A shooting in the Palmerdale area of Jefferson County Sunday morning has left multiple people injured.

Officials say the shooting happened at a party in a wooded area off Highway 75.

Palmerdale Fire District Chief Taylor Hancock says both they and the Center Point Fire Department responded to the incident which happened at around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

According to officials with Palmerdale Fire, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies secured the scene and found a man with multiple gunshot wounds while two girls were also injured.

The man and one of the girls were taken to UAB Hospital while the third victim was treated on the scene by Center Point Fire.

Officials say there was a delay getting to the scene because of the remote location of the party
