After spending at least half of last week’s regular meeting on three proposed ordinances aimed at curbing the proliferation of homeless encampments across the city, the Board of Aldermen voted to send the measure back to the Committee on Infrastructure for additional public input and discussion.
The committee has convened a special meeting to take up the ordinances, as well as a fourth one that, if passed, would keep the public restrooms at City Hall open from 8 a.m. — 10 p.m. to help minimize the human waste problem in the city’s downtown.
The special meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday in the aldermanic chamber.
The other three ordinances on the special meeting agenda include O-25-079, which prohibits camping on public property.
