TOOMBS COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) — There has been an officer-involved shooting in the city of Vidalia.

The incident occurred in the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Epstein Street. The Vidalia Police Department (VPD) and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) are currently at the scene.

An investigation is currently underway.

"We also ask the community to keep the subject and the officer involved in their thoughts and prayers as we work in conjunction with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation," said Capt. John Humphrey.
