Three people were shot outside Oklahoma State University’s Carreker East residential hall early Sunday, and police say there is no continuing threat to campus as the investigation moves forward.

What the police said happened

OSU Police Chief Michael Beckner said officers first heard a Stillwater radio call about an injured person at the McDonald’s on Duck Street around 3:40 a.m. OSU officers arrived first and rendered aid to a person with gunshot wounds. Around the same time, dispatchers began receiving reports of shots fired near campus and directed officers to Carreker East on McElroy Road.

When officers reached the residential complex, multiple vehicles were leaving the area. Police secured the scene and moved witnesses to a safe location for interviews. No victims were found at the
