West Kelowna Warriors are the top team in the BCHL with a sparkling record of 9-1-1 which included a pair of wins this past week.
In a low-scoring affair, Thursday, the Warriors edged Cowichan Valley 2-1 in overtime.
Ruslan Jamaldinov scored the winner at 1:03 in overtime with Ian Alonso and Carson Pavlowich drawing assists. Ethan Merner also scored in the win with Jamaldinov drawing the assist, his goal coming at 19:53 in the first. Jake McAra scored Cowichan Valley’s lone goal at 17:43 in the first.
Angelo Zol made 14 saves in posting the win in net.
Jack Hirshorn had 24 stops for Cowichan Valley.
On Saturday, Jamaldinov had three assists in a 5-2 win over Salmon Arm.
Alonso, Dylan Krayer, Kelsen Podworny, Ethan Merner and Noah Garthe scored in the win.
