NOW THAT’S HOW YOU SING A NATIONAL ANTHEM

At the risk of firing up another debate about the merits of Australia’s national anthem, how could you not be inspired by the emotional pre-match build up from the Kiwis and Samoans.

What a wonderful promotion that was for the international game of rugby league.

And what I liked most was that there wasn’t a single player from either team who didn’t sing along to their national anthem – loud and proud.

Now that’s how you sing a national anthem.

While James Fisher-Harris and Junior Paulo did a fantastic job leading their respective war cries with such tremendous passion.

As Andrew Voss said in Fox League commentary: “If you’re not stirred by that, you don’t have a pulse.”
