Caravan owners may soon have to rethink where they store their vehicles as two south-east Queensland councils seek to restrict on-street parking.
The Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast councils will present a joint motion to address the issue at the Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ) conference this week.
More than 700 complaints are made annually to the Sunshine Coast Council over caravan street congestion concerns.
In Queensland, you can park a trailer on a street indefinitely if it is no longer than 7.5 metres and weighs less than 4.5 tonnes.
Mayor Rosanna Natoli said it was a state government issue.
