Despite being outshot 45-15, the Sting held off the OHL Western Conference-leading Spitfires for a 5-3 win Saturday before 4,789 at Windsor’s WFCU Centre. Article content Article content

“They deserve a ton of credit for how desperate they played tonight,” Sting head coach Alan Letang said.

“Great goaltending (and a) commitment to block shots.”

Quinlan’s 42 saves are a season high. He kept the Sting in the game until his teammates could create some offence in the second period.

“Give credit to them and give credit to their goalie, he was outstanding,” Spitfires head coach Greg Walters said to the Windsor Star.
