A special weather statement calling for high winds has ended but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t still hold onto your baseball cap in southern Ontario.
Environment Canada ended the wind warning around 5 p.m. Oct. 19 as southwesterly winds change to northwesterly winds Sunday evening.
A cold front with showers and thunderstorm moved through the area giving us the high winds, the weather service said.
Wind gusts can toss loose objects, break branches off trees and may result in some power outages.
The daytime high of 23 C plunged to around 16 by the end of the afternoon Sunday.
Sunday is expected to remain cloudy with 10 to 15 millimetres of rainfall. The wind gusts are expected become northwesterly and will continue to gust from 40 to 60 km/hr overnight.
