Montreal's Felix Auger-Aliassime secured the European Open title in Brussels on Sunday, defeating Jiri Lehecka from the Czech Republic. The match concluded with scores of 7-6(2), 6-7(6), 6-2, marking a significant achievement for the 25-year-old Canadian.

Auger-Aliassime, who was seeded No. 2 in the tournament, showcased his powerful serve by delivering 17 aces during the two-hour and 34-minute match. He also won 79 percent of his first-serve points. Despite losing the second set, he maintained control throughout the match, converting two of his six break-point opportunities while not allowing Lehecka any break-point chances.

"It's the final, so we put everything on the line," Auger-Aliassime said. "I feel like we were both extremely focused from the beginning. It was a high level for two sets, then you don't know how things can go. But I'm obviously glad."

This victory marks Auger-Aliassime's eighth career title and his third title of the year. Earlier in 2025, he won tournaments in Montpellier, France, and Adelaide, Australia. With this win, he is now tied with fellow Canadian Milos Raonic for the most singles titles among Canadian men in the Open era.

Currently, Auger-Aliassime is ranked 13th in the world, a drop from his previous ranking of No. 6 in November 2022. His performance at the European Open adds to his growing list of accomplishments on the ATP Tour, further establishing him as a prominent figure in Canadian tennis.
