IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - The Hawkeyes were reminded why they wear the black-and-gold vs. Penn State.
Iowa defeated Penn State, 25-24, at Kinnick Stadium, with the striped-out crowd providing energy throughout the contest.
“It’s definitely the energy in Kinnick. There’s nothing like playing a night game in Kinnick,” said defensive back Deshaun Lee.
Defense creates turnovers after slow start
The Hawkeyes defense recorded two interceptions and made a crucial fourth-down stop on Penn State’s final drive. The turnovers came from a unit that didn’t record its first takeaway until Week 4 of the season.
“The ball is just going to find you sometimes. Just being in the right spot and doing your job to the best of your ability,” Lee said.
