Justin Leonard drained an eagle putt on the par-5 18th hole Sunday to win the Dominion Energy Charity Classic on the Country Club of Virginia’s River Course in Richmond.

It was the first playoff event this year on the PGA Champions Tour, which includes players aged 50 and older.

Leonard, who came to 18 down by one stroke, shot 4 under in the final round for a 12-under total to win by one stroke over Thomas Bjørn and 36-hole leader Ernie Els. The tournament included 69 of the top 72 players in the standings, and the top 54 advanced to next week’s Simmons Bank Championship in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Leonard, who earned $350,000, shot a final-round 68 to move from 17th to ninth in the Charles Schwab Cup standings. Freddie Jacobson, who eagled 18, earned fourth place at 10 under.
