ALBANY — Eleven community partners across the state, including those based in the Capital Region and the Mohawk Valley region, have been selected to create 56 new murals through a new initiative announced by Gov. Kathy Hochul on Friday.

The CHARM program — Cultivating Havens for the Arts through Regional Murals — will support the creation of art across 21 counties, tapping into New York'sartistic community to enhance existing community spaces, celebrate local culture, drive visitation and promote civic engagement. The public art program is administered by the New York State Council on the Arts.
