On Monday, as India began Diwali festivities with joy and devotion, President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice-President CP Radhakrishnan, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, and several national leaders extended warm greetings, asking citizens to embrace harmony, compassion, and the sustainable celebration of the festival of lights.
In a message shared on X, President Murmu said, “On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all Indians, both in India and across the world.”
President Murmu described the festival as a symbol of the “triumph of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil.” The President also called upon citizens to use the occasion for self-reflection and self-improvement, and to sup
