A tragic fire broke out at a chawl in Cuffe Parade, south Mumbai, early Monday morning, resulting in the death of a 15-year-old boy and injuries to three others. The incident has left the close-knit community reeling as authorities work to determine what sparked the blaze.
The fire was reported at approximately 4:15 am in Shivshakti Nagar's single-storey row tenement along Captain Prakash Pethe Marg. Firefighters swiftly extinguished the flames by 4:35 am, but not before they claimed the life of Yash Vitthal Khot.
The fire, which damaged electric wiring and appliance installations, also injured Devendra Choudhary, Viraj Khot, and Sangram Kurne, who are receiving treatment. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to civic officials.
