GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Greensboro couple’s wedding day took an unexpected turn when the bride’s water broke — just hours before she was supposed to walk down the aisle.
Jasmine Smith and her fiancé, Latroy Parker, had planned to get married on Wednesday. But instead of preparing for a ceremony, Jasmine woke up in labor and headed to the Cone Health Women’s and Children’s Center in Greensboro.
“She woke me up this morning and she was like, 'You know, my water broke,'” Parker said. “And I'm like, 'You're kidding me, right?' I was like, 'We're supposed to get married today.' And she was like, 'I know, I know, I know.' From there, you know, just trying to figure out how we could still get the marriage going.”
