Almost a year to the day of being elected Penticton Summerland MLA, Amelia Boultbee is believed to be stepping down from the Conservative caucus.

Boultbee has called a press conference and media scrum on the steps of the B.C. Legislature in Victoria for Monday morning (Oct. 20) at 9 a.m.

It's anticipated that she will resign from caucus at that time and sit as an independent.

There were rumours that she was at odds with Conservative Leader John Rustad after posting a photo on her Facebook home page with deposed MLA Elenore Sturko. (Rustad had booted the popular MLA from caucus last month for reasons still unknown.)

However, as recently as Oct. 10, Boultbee defended the leader in an interview with Keith Lacey of The Penticton Herald. She also hosted a Conservative fundraiser in Summerla
