The village of Friezland is a picture of tranquility. The idyllic spot wedged between Grasscroft and Greenfield in Saddleworth , Oldham , consists of a short section of the canal framed by sycamores and chestnut trees, roads of quiet semi-detached homes with well-kept gardens, and almost as many spaniels as residents.
