HOUGHTON — The biggest difference between the Negaunee Miners and the Houghton Gremlins on the football field Friday was that the Miners scored early and often. The Miners (5-3) tallied six touchdowns and were well into the fourth quarter at Alumni Field in Houghton before the Gremlins (2-6) had scored one.

The end result was a 42-6 win for Negaunee.

“That is a good football team,” said Gremlins coach Tim Driscoll. “They played hard, and we didn’t. We didn’t control the football well and turned the ball over too many times.”

The Miners first eight points came at the nine-minute mark of the opening quarter. Senior Broc Bonovetz who carried the ball in with ease from the red zone. It was the first of two touch downs for Bonovetz on the night.
