Bhubaneswar : A low-pressure area is likely to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours, according to the Director of Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre, Manorama Mohanty.
The system is expected to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over the central parts of the south Bay of Bengal and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal within the next 48 hours.
Although the system is not expected to have a direct impact on Odisha, the state is likely to experience low to moderate rainfall for the next 5-7 days due to a change in wind direction, bringing in moisture. The rainfall is expected to be accompanied by lightning and gusty winds.
