New Delhi: In a stern message to India over tariffs, US President Donald Trump said that if India does not stop buying oil from Russia, he will further increase tariffs. However, the US president reiterated his earlier claim that Prime Minister Modi had assured him that India would not buy oil from Russia, adding that he had spoken to PM Modi over the phone regarding this matter.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), on the other hand, clarified that there has been no such conversation between PM Modi and President Trump.
