India's biggest holiday, Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is being celebrated widely across the world this week. But there has been lots of confusion about when to celebrate Diwali this year, as the period for the festival actually runs over two days instead of one. ‌

While Hindus interpret the story of Diwali in different ways based on where they're from, the main theme that stays at the core of the festival is the triumph of good over evil.
