Amazon’s cloud division Amazon Web Services (AWS) suffered a widespread outage on Monday, leaving millions of users and businesses struggling to access popular websites and apps worldwide. Services affected included Fortnite, Snapchat, Robinhood, Coinbase, Roblox, Venmo, and many others, showing the far-reaching impact across sectors. AWS confirmed that initial mitigations have been applied and some services are showing early signs of recovery. However, the company warned that requests may continue to fail as engineers work toward a full resolution.

AWS acknowledged “increased error rates and latencies” across several of its key services hosted in the US-East-1 region, one of its largest data hubs located in Northern Virginia. The company said it had “identifi
