**Trial Resumes for Women Accused of Stalking McCann Family** The trial of two women accused of stalking the family of missing girl Madeleine McCann has resumed at Leicester Crown Court. The court is currently examining DNA samples collected during the investigation into the disappearance of the three-year-old, who went missing in 2007. The court has already heard testimonies from Madeleine's parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, as well as her younger siblings, Sean and Amelie. Julia Wandelt, 24, originally from Poland, is accused of contacting the McCann family and claiming she believes she is Madeleine. Alongside her co-defendant, 61-year-old Karen Spragg from Cardiff, Wandelt is alleged to have visited the family home in Leicestershire. The court has been informed that the stalking incidents reportedly occurred between June 2022 and February 2025. During the proceedings, jurors learned that a DNA profile of Madeleine was obtained from a pillowcase in her bedroom shortly after her disappearance. Additionally, a second DNA profile was derived from a neonatal blood test taken shortly after her birth in 2003. Wandelt's DNA was collected via a mouth swab following her arrest in February.
