AUSTIN, Texas — Operations are back to normal at Austin's airport after a temporary ground delay impacted travel Sunday evening.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a delay from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday on all flights coming into Austin because of extra traffic as a result of the U.S. Grand Prix. The delays lasted roughly 40 minutes per flight.

On Monday, the airport is expected to see one of its busiest travel days of the year, with more than 40,0000 travelers set to fly out of Austin.

Travelers are recommended to arrive at least two and a half hours early for flights within the U.S.
