A strong frontal system will move through Massachusetts Monday morning, bringing with it a quick-moving line of heavy rain and wind.

The rain is already coming down in parts of Massachusetts, with the front expected to move through the Connecticut River Valley by around 8 a.m. and into the Interstate 95 Corridor. National Weather Service forecasters expect the rain to pass through the I-95 corridor by 11 a.m. before moving offshore between noon and 2 p.m.

"The primary hazard with the fine line will be a brief period of heavy rain during the morning rush hour," forecasters wrote.

While the rain could come down at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour, forecasters don’t expect any flash floods.
