Thirteen protesters were arrested in downtown Denver on Saturday evening during the ‘ No Kings’ protest. A group of protesters, marching west on Sixth Avenue, attempted to access Interstate 25 near Santa Fe Drive around 6:45 PM Denver police declared the march an unlawful assembly and ordered the crowd to disperse via loudspeaker announcements.
After a short delay, officers deployed smoke to scatter the group, arresting three individuals on suspicion of unspecified charges.
A total of nine additional protesters were arrested during other secondary marches, while one person was taken into custody during the main event earlier that day for possession of a knife.
