A tropical depression could form in the Caribbean this week, according to the National Hurricane Center.
A tropical wave, designated Invest 98-L, is located over the eastern Caribbean Sea and producing poorly organized showers and thunderstorms.
Invest 98-L is producing winds of 30 to 40 mph.
Environmental conditions appear marginally conducive for slow development over the next couple of days as the system moves westward at 20 to 25 mph.

A tropical depression could form by the middle of the week.
