BYU’s public address announcer begged students and fans not to storm the field after the Cougars beat Utah on Saturday.
But the field storming happened anyway, with university president Shane Reese surfing the crowd along the way.
The Cougars won’t have to worry about the $50,000 fine that comes with it either.
Crumbl CEO Jason McGowan volunteered to pay the fine to the Big 12 conference in the locker room after the game. Head coach Kalani Sitake shouted him out to the team.
“Crumbl’s own Jason McGowan is going to pay for the fine right here,” Sitake said. “Just so you guys know, he told me that. I didn’t make him do it.”
McGowan posted on social media, “Us donors and fan have our players backs, period.”
